Iceland is a country of fire and ice: lava fields, glaciers, geysers and waterfalls, all within a few hours’ drive. Its golf courses run straight through that landscape: green fairways between black volcanic rock, holes along ocean cliffs, glaciers on the horizon. The season runs from May to September, and in June and July the sun barely sets, so you can tee off at nine in the evening and still finish in daylight.
Most courses lie within an hour of Reykjavík, leaving time for other activities. Think of the Blue Lagoon, Gullfoss, the Golden Circle and whale watching.
