Iceland is a country of fire and ice. Lava fields, glaciers, geysers and waterfalls, all within a few hours’ drive. Head out of Reykjavík and the landscape takes over: black sand beaches, steaming ground, mountains with snow on top in the middle of summer.
There’s plenty to fill the days: cross a glacier by super jeep, walk behind the waterfall at Seljalandsfoss or head out after dark to look for the Northern Lights.
But Iceland is just as good at slowing down. Geothermal lagoons dot the island, fed by the volcanic heat below. Warm water, ocean views, and nothing to do but let the day sink in. Adventure by day, recovery by evening. Exactly what an incentive trip should be.
